In those three days, we grew from 973 to 1191 g. 220 grams gain in only three days!
The bar is mine, yeah! All the milk, it’s all mine…
What a luxury of free choice, where to drink.
But I have to admit, someone had helped me. You see those guys to the right? They were taken out by two bottles of milk.
Two bottles of milk. At half past four in the morning! There ain’t no better way to start the day!
As we are so many, our mom has a hard time feeding all of us. A little help from a friend is strongly appreciated.
And to tell the truth, it is convenient in some way or other. No fight for a good place at the milkbar, no empty glasses because the puppy I pushed away did drink it all.
Caressing and milk, lots of milk. With a little help from our friends…
Of course, we’ve already had this “with a little help from my friends” theme…
But hey, have you ever seen me close up, so full to bursting? That milky beard did disappear quickly, believe me.
The daily routines for a six-day-old puppy are limited to quite a few activities: Sleep, fight for a good seat at the milk bar, grab a nap, a small snack before the others discover that mom is back, a small nap and maybe a meal from a bottle, then sleep a little so you are ready for the next meal.
Although Fluffy spends most of her time in the puppy box, where she alternately grooms and feeds the puppies, with a litter of eleven puppies, there will always be someone standing in the back of the queue for the milk bar.
Based on observations of the puppies and the daily weighings, the puppies therefore receive a feed supplement in a feeding bottle.
If neither mother nor siblings are nearby, a friendly foot can easily be used as a replacement, it has almost the right size to rest your head on.
The first night of Fluffy’s new life as a mother is well over. She is still somewhat tired after yesterday’s hardships, but it does not affect the puppies who are groomed and cared for.
Despite this being Fluffy’s first litter, she goes to the task as an experienced bitch who has tried it before. Her care for each of the puppies is impressive and tireless. She exudes a fantastic calm that spreads to the puppies.
After giving birth to eleven puppies, nursed each individual and fed them. it’s time for a well deserved rest on the terrace.
